Found a picture of the item you want to buy but don't know its name in Chinese? Taobao has implemented picture search, where you can take a picture or choose a picture form you photo gallery to find the items you want. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to use picture search in Taobao.
Step 1: Open the Taobao app, and select the camera icon next in the search bar.
Step 2: Take a picture using the camera: You will be taken to the camera screen, as shown below. Tap on the Camera icon to take a picture of the item you want to find.
Step 3: Select a picture from the picture gallery: You will be taken to the camera screen, as shown below. Tap on the Picture icon to select a picture of the item you want to find.
Taobao will take a few seconds to scan your picture and generate any results they find.
Once search is complete, Taobao will show you results for the picture you provided.
Tips for searching: The picture you take or select should be as clear as possible to ensure the most accurate result.
