Very often, we find ourselves unsure if the item we want to buy from Taobao is good. This can be a good time to look at the item's reviews and ratings to help us decide if we should buy the item. This guide will walk you through how to see an item's review to decide if you should go ahead in purchasing the item.
Tap the "See All Reviews" button as shown in the picture below to look at all the reviews for the item you are interested in.
To look at actual pictures taken by other buyers of the item, tap on this "Pictures" button as shown below.
Tap on the "Positive Reviews" button to see positive reviews of an item.
Tap on the "Neutral Reviews" button to see neutral reviews of an item.
Tap on the "Negative Reviews" button to see negative reviews of an item.
Tap on the "Pictures" button to see pictures taken by buyers of the item.
Tap on the "Videos" button to see short videos recorded by buyers of the item.
Tap on the "Further Review" button to see further reviews by buyers of the item after using the item.
If a buyer did not leave any reviews, the Taobao system will automatically assume that the buyer leaves a good review after 30 days. An automatic good review example is in the picture below.

If an item has no review, it is hard to tell how good an item is. An example of an item with no review is shown below.
Unlike Taobao store items, Tmall store items do not show positive, neutral or negative reviews. However, they may contain pictures and videos taken by buyers, especially it is a popular item.

When choosing an item, it is important to look at the pictures if they are available, and check that the positive review of the item is at least 5 times that of the neutral and negative reviews of the item. If pictures or videos are available, it is a good idea to take a look at them to get an idea of the item's real look and feel. Popular items tend to have more pictures and videos, and thus is guarenteed to be 'safer' to buy. Further reviews may also contain pictures, and it is worth a shot looking at them when deciding whether to buy the item. This, and along with choosing a good seller, is the key to buying the perfect item.
